Meet My Sam

What have I been up to lately aside from the usual runs? Well, just exactly three weeks ago, I got myself Sam.  Who? It's more of a what actually.  I've been eyeing it since three or four months ago, but I kept postponing the purchase, hoping the price would go down further. But with the coming season, I don't think the price would plummet anytime soon. So yeah, I gave myself an early Christmas gift, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0, the 7-inch tablet with 3G and WiFi connectivity.  Meet my Sam...tadaaa.......

My Sam

There's so much I can do with it and I still can't seem to get my hands and eyes off it since three weeks ago.  It's been my constant companion now.  I love the S-Planner (as if my schedule is that busy lol!).  There are games, but I'm not much of a gamer.  I use Sam mainly as my planner, digital notebook, and e-book reader.  I know, I know, I used to say there's nothing like the feel of a real book.  Well, surprise surprise!  I'm loving the digital books now as well.  In fact, I have already downloaded tons of free e-books, the classic novels mostly.  When I have exhausted those, then probably I'll go purchase those I can afford to buy.

I have also downloaded three versions of the Bible - NKJV, NIV and ESV and an application to take notes. So now, I don't have to lug around a Bible and a notebook when I go to church.  It's all in there now in one convenient gadget that fits snugly in my small bag.  Of course, it takes some getting used to, tapping and typing.  I keep hitting the wrong letters, but I'm getting better at it now.

Aside from those, there are other applications that are available from the Google Playstore for free.  I've actually downloaded some applications for health and fitness like My Fitness Pal and also a Period Calendar.  There's even one that tracks water intake but I uninstalled that as it's a bit distracting for me with those alerts every hour telling me to drink up water hahaha!

I think I got myself a good deal as well.  From what I've gathered, the price at which I bought this unit is the same as in Singapore.  A little birdie told me hahaha!  If you're interested to buy Samsung gadgets, I would suggest you get it from Samsung direct sellers.  I got this tablet for PhP 15,300 with free apps already and the standard one-year warranty.  At other third party sellers, the cheapest I've come across is PhP 15,600 and if you're opting for credit card payment, it goes as high as PhP 18,000.

There's just one problem now....I'm getting too engrossed with reading that my eyes are getting sore and sometimes, I lose sleep.  Hopefully, when the giddiness subsides, I'll be back to normal.  Hahaha!
