Shape'd: Simple Picture Cropping Tool

Girl Thinking

I've been wanting to change my blog header in this blog and my other blog for quite sometime now.  You know how it could get boring, seeing the same design everyday.  Or maybe I'm just being fidgety again with blog design hahaha! I didn't have enough urge to do so but now  I finally had the time and energy to do that on both blogs.  I haven't got my hands on Photoshop yet so I'm just using some crude ways of making header image graphics.  I still used CoolText for the blog title fonts and I got free images from Flicker and Microsoft Office.  I've been contemplating on buying images from various sites with stock photos.  I would have wanted those nice vectors but I thought of just getting free images for the meantime.

What I really needed is just a simple cropping tool that cuts the pictures in a circular shape.  I was so excited when I found Shape'd, a free and simple application from the Android Playstore.  It really crops the images neatly, and unlike in online cropping tools where you still have to resize images to an exact square image,  Shape'd is relatively hassle free and so simple to use.  This is where my Sam has come in handy once again.

So what do you think of my new blog headers?

I know they're a far cry from professional designs but I actually had fun doing this.  Oh and before I forget, you can crop the pictures in other geometric shapes, even animal shapes.  And I have some ideas also on what to do with those cropped images.  Until next editing!

  1. You are getting good at it A ! So when can we meet so you can teach me how to do it in on my blog ? lol ! Btw, if in case you want to study Adobe Photoshop I know one fellow Mapuan who had been handling classes since 1995 at the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging. I can give you a hint about his last name. It is French (wink ).

    1. I've been seeing some of our fellow BC bloggers redesigning their blogs. It was your recent revision that gave me that light bulb moment. You gave me an idea... I initially thought of putting my own photos but they don't look good enough. I didn't want to buy vectors just yet. So I ended up with pictures from creative commons hehehe.

    1. What's hard with bought templates is that whenever I have the urge to fidget with it and I can't figure it out, I'd have to call the designer pa hehehe... $10 is cheap pa nga because some sell as high as 10x that amount, depending on what package you choose. I had fun doing this naman....and I have other ideas pa that I plan to make use of when I have more time. Hahaha maybe I'd share that through tutorials. :-)
