{Day 23} Five Minute Friday: Joy
by
Aileen
Joining Kate and the rest of FMFers to write about JOY.
START...
I remember those vacation bible schools when I was still a kid. There's this song that's a favorite among the kids and it goes something like this:

I've mentioned Oceans on Day 4 of this series, and now it comes back to mind once again. I really love the song. But am I really ready to do what the song asks for? Take for instance this line:

{31 Days of Free Writes}: A Journey of Faith
by
Aileen
This is my second time to join the 31 Days Writing Challenge, hosted then by The Nester. The first time, I did it was on my health blog with the theme 31 Steps to Fit and Strong. That writing challenge really stretched me in so many ways when it came to writing as it involved a lot of research and I was really pumped up and pressed to meet the deadlines. It was fun though, and that's one of the important things.
I thought I'd try it here. I read about Kate's idea of a joint challenge with Five Minute Free Writes and I think it's a great idea! The word prompts are really speaking to me and so I thought, why not? And it saved me the time to think about a theme or topic. This time, it won't involve research, but more of an introspective writing journey focusing on faith.
Won't you come and join me for the next 31 days beginning on October 1st? I'll be writing about my faith journeys using these word prompts:

Oooh and here's one of the fun parts...the making of buttons. What's a link up without one of these right? So here's mine!

31 Days Writing Challenge 2015
by
Aileen
I took a deep breath and then I plunged in. No, I'm not going for a swim but I might as well have as I have decided to join the yearly 31 days of daily writing every October. Not much preparation, honestly, but I hope to accomplish this challenge, for the second time. This is a good way to jump start my writing after a very long lull. And I love that we could team up with Kate's Five Minute Fridays, only, it's going to be five minutes everyday, technically speaking. It's actually a two-in-one writing challenge: Five Minute Free Writes and 31 Days Challenge.
Kate's given a preview of the word prompts and they are very relevant words for my stage in life right now. The words are all popping out with meaning to me and so I am taking the challenge. If you're interested in joining, head on over to the links above or check out the word prompts below:

{Five Minute Friday}: Write
by
Aileen

I saw the word prompt last Friday and I had to smile. Still, it took me several days to get myself to do it. I guess I kind of lost my momentum when I took a very long break.
I thought I'd give it a try. I have to start somewhere and what better timing could there be?

{Five Minute Friday}: Fly
by
Aileen
Every Friday, writers, mostly women, link up at Lisa-Jo's place to share their thoughts on the week's word prompt. Today, the word is: FLY. We have 5 minutes to write about that word without over thinking, over editing and just enjoy the freedom of writing. I've set the timer many times and I always go beyond 5 minutes, but I do try to write in as short a time as possible and that is usually anywhere from 15-20 minutes. Ready?

{Five Minute Friday}: Truth
by
Aileen
Every Friday, a group of women gather round over at Lisa-Jo's place to write and share musings about a word prompt, all in five minutes. The word for this week is TRUTH, and to be truthful about it, it took me 5 minutes for the first 2 paragraphs only. My mind wanders off too often, I'm afraid. And here is what I have written for 12 minutes.

{Five Minute Friday}: Just Write
by
Aileen
Hey, hey, hey! I thought I'd do the Five Minute Friday (FMF) drill in a different venue (blog, that is). I usually do this at A Cup of Coffee With God, but since the topic is about writing, I thought I'd do it here instead.
For those who are not familiar with the FMF party, please head on over at Lisa-Jo's fab place to get acquainted with how this thing works. Simply put, you just write for 5 minutes straight on the word prompt for the week. Anything that comes to mind. No serious editing, you just write. Then link up your post to the fabulous women who write on the same topic.
Sounds fun? I'd like to see you there!
